Combining photos and painting opens up an even wider range of expressive possibilities. Using techniques that emerge from digital media, I can develop aspects of a photo that I want to highlight, drop others that get in the way, sometimes to the point that the end result looses most of its pictorial significance in favour of a new meaning that I find worthier of expression. This merging of two art forms allows me the renewed freedom to indulge in photography and drawing, artistic activities that I’ve grown to love over the years.
