Sometimes, drawing on its own is the best way of delving deeply and liberating the interior vision that we hold of something. It is said that seeing is not the intellectual interpretation of the luminous impulses that our eyes perceive of the outside world, but rather the perception of the gap that exists between what is seen and what was expected to be seen. It seems to me that drawing is an activity that enables us to clearly delineate these two “visions”. We can thus choose whichever one suits us, in full knowledge of the facts.
Because of their capacity to subtly encode anthropological values without letting on, I’ve chosen mostly to draw animals.
